    ACOG alternative?

Before I get attacked, I am not looking for ACOG quality. I understand that there's a reason some optics cost north of $1k, and others around $50.
However, has anyone found some sort of fiber optic "red dot" sight that actually holds zero? It would be great if it were an ACOG look-alike, but doesn't have to be.
I'm looking for something to toss on my budget range rifle. I've searched the forums regarding those ACOG-type optics on Amazon and eBay. The general consensus is "they're not as good." That I already knew. But are there any that would hold zero on an AR?

If not, I'll probably have to go with another PA MD-06. Although, I'd really like to try an ACOG-like optic. And no, I can't afford the real deal. I have modern day law school debt to thank for that.

Have you looked at the TR24 AccuPoint?

Just go with a PA MD-06... not only will you get a decent product, you wont be throwing away cash on an item that only looks like something decent.

There are other fiber optic products, like the Tripower, but they are also in the Trijicon portfolio and probably also be out of budget.

There are other fiberoptic sights, like the SEE ALL, but its nothing like what you might be thinking of.

I have. It's also out of budget.

That may end up being my best option. Although it would have been nice to try an ACOG-like optic.

Not an ACOG-type, but for the price, this one is solid. Holds zero, good reticle. No complaints yet.

I've been eyeing that scope, but, not particularly interested in a scope now.

I should have probably mentioned, I'm looking for a fixed red dot type optic.

Atibal Sights produces high quality scopes and red dot sights. All of our optics come with a full lifetime warranty, so you can buy with peace of mind.

              Basically a TA01 clone.

I just noticed that Primary Arms has somewhat of an Aimpoint clone - their "30mm Gen II." Does anyone have experience with this RDS? I'm deciding between that one and their micro RDS (MD-RBGII)

Also, if anyone could suggest an etched reticle red dot in my $150- budget, that would be great - assuming any exist.

Acog clones, eotech clones, etc, are all airsoft quality junk made to look like another optic with no concern at all to the quality of the optic itself. They are to look cool, period.

If you're considering a red dot I'd recommend the TRS-25. It is within your budget and a quality product that holds up.

I prefer the MD-06 over the TRS-25. A buddy of mine had one - it worked well, but had this strange glare effect.

I'm interested in an etched RDS, but can't really find anything under $150. I may end up going with the 30mm Gen II.

Mr Sam how about something from Vortex?
OP's little more than your limit.

Primary Arms has some in your budget.

I was actually considering the Strikefire. From what I've been told, it has an etched reticle. Unfortunately, it's about double the price of a PA 30mm Classic GenII. I'll check the marketplace for something used.

Edit: Never mind, it's the $400 Spitfire that has the etched reticle.

In the same boat. Will save for an aimpoint pro. Till something else sucks money out of my wallet. 80% lowers ect.
