Red Dot used with tactical light

I was wondering if a red dot like the Aimpoint works well in a pitch dark situation if you have a flashlight mounted on your rifle? Is the dot still visible in the white light that illuminates the target?

Aimpoint Pro and 1000 lumens LED,no problems to see the dot

Thanks, picking up my first AR and was thinking of that combo, along with some flip up iron sights.

Your setup will work very well. Try and take a low light night class that is geared around your set up vs a NV class. Knowing how to illuminate and when is key. You dont want to be a huge light house saying "here I am just aim for the bright light".
