Even without a canted base, it'll take you to 1k. Its a far better value than the SS.

The SS is just as clear as my leupolds. Best money spent so far on a scope. I would say for under 5-600 bucks your not gonna beat it as far as fixed power goes.

When I ran ebay auctions for a warehouse business I would cancel auctions once our stock ran out, otherwise we'd get lots of backorders and angry calls. I called them a couple times but got a busy signal, probably lots of backorders and holiday stuff going on over there.

              If you want variable magnification,
              I suggest falcon optics Menace.
THeir 4.5-14 comes in just under 400.
I looked through a buddy of mines and I was prettty impressed with the glass and build.
The most important thing to me however was that it uses a MIL/MIL standard AND a front focal plane (Reticle can be used at any magnification setting)
The reticle was Mil, and the knob were mil (.1mil per click) I'm sick of doing mil/MOA conversions, just too damn lazy.

Unfortunately the place I bought it from is out right now, might want to call or email them to see when they get some more back in stock. http://www.rwsnydergunsmithing.com/s...ts/default.asp

Back to your subject though, Yes super snipers are great. I used the 16x for a while on my .50bmg. Held zero, had no tracking issues. And as noted, the elevation range is ridiculous.
If you do get one though, best thing to do is change out the O-ring to get rid of that crappy mushiness feeling. If i recall correctly, theres an o ring you can buy at home depot as a replacement that'll fix the mushy problem.

The SS holds up to a .50cal. Cheapest scope to put on one that can withstand the recoil. Mine hasn't failed yet (knock on wood).

The Bushnell 3200 10x mil dot holds up well to .50 BMG as well. The Barrett 99 was available with this scope as an option from the factory.

Not that it matters but where are SS made in?
I'm debating weather to go with the
                    SS 10X42,
                    Bushnell 10X40,
or even the Millett 10X50 for my AR15 20" barrel and Howa 1500 .243cal.
I know Milletts are made in China yet the DMS1 works very well on my 10/22 as well as on my AR15.
                    will use for:
                    60% target practice
                    30% future hunting
                    10% when the SHTF

Nikon Monarch mildot or bdc, 2.5-10. If it's a bull barrel you might want something with a bit more magnification for punching paper but otherwise 2.5-10 is great.

Don't have my S.Sniper yet so no idea how good they are, hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

To what distance will you be shooting?

For hunting in the future, you'll want a variable. The Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14 mildot is the one I'd go with given your criteria.

I believe SS is made in Japan.
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

That's a wonderful scope for the money.

I bought a SS scope because I thought I wanted to learn how to use mil dots. As it turned out I didn't. It worked very well for the money and I have no complaints, I'd recommend another one for the application I was using it for.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Still waiting on my Super Sniper. Ordered the 12th of last month. Backordered yet you're still taking orders off Ebay where the auction lists "19 available?"

Best in the business, yeah right.
