They're fairly cheap (ie inexpensive, but not exactly durable) with mixed reviews. Personally, I think they're a decent value if you're a civie just plinking away, though I wouldn't want to risk my life with one.

Fixed power. There are better scopes for about the same price that offer more for the money.

Well, since you didn't specify exactly what "sniperscopes" you are referring to, nor provide a link to the nomenclature of your planned purchase, I don't know. Bear in mind that for marketing purposes, some manufactures will name a product thus and such, to make it sound sexy and appealing, when in fact, it's not legally defined as what they call it. However, I will provide you with this section of the CA P.C. for your consideration:

        Sniperscopes
468 P.C.: Any person who knowingly buys, sells, receives, disposes of, conceals, or has in his possession a sniperscope shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment. As used in this section, sniperscope means any attachment, device or similar contrivance designed for or adaptable to use on a firearm which, through the use of a projected infrared light source and electronic telescope, enables the operator thereof to visually determine and locate the presence of objects during the nighttime. This section shall not prohibit the authorized use or possession of such sniperscope by a member of the armed forces of the United States or by police officers, peace officers, or law enforcement officers authorized by the properly constituted authorities for the enforcement of law or ordinances; nor shall this section prohibit the use or possession of such sniperscope when used solely for scientific research or educational purposes.

Super Sniper is a brand/model of scope.

I recently bought one off SWFA's ebay auction(s) but apparently they aren't in stock (although they are listed as being in stock on ebay). So I have no idea either.

But I hear more good about them than bad, assuming you want a fixed power, tactical, and slightly heavy scope.

If you're gonna get fixed power, you might as well get the Bushnell 3200 Elite 10x Tactical Mildot. I got mine NIB for $160 off of a member from snipershide.com, they retail for about ~200 total after shipping.

He was unfamiliar with the Super Sniper brand/model , and by not capitalizing the brand name, he may have missed that you were talking about a specific scope brand.

Back again. Yes. I was unfamiliar with a product going by this exact name. Have not run across it in any of my magazines. I interpeted "super' as an adjetive rather than a noun. But I was just giving you the elements of what DOJ considers a "Sniperscope". Well, a rose by any other name...

Mine hold 0 has clear glass and is a 10x. I think they are a great buy for the money, but it depends what you are looking to do if you are just plinking you might want to look at a Bushnell and I know I catch a crap for this but the new Accushot series Leapers are great for the money
There are sniper everywhere and nowhere.....who knows what is out there.

I got the SS 10x with side focus, reticle canted after 600 rds of .223 Return it to SWFA and never looked back. Knobs are smushy.

I got a 10X last week. Details at 315 Yards matches my Leupold 3.5-10 Vari-x III AO (25 years old but still great condition. Clicks work ok and I like the knobs better than Leupolds.

I'm waiting on a rail for my 452A so it hasn't been used yet.

Even though Ebay said 11 available, it was 3-5 day wait for new shipment.

Most of my shooting is done at 10x or more dependng on model of scope.

Only problem was that the sun shade was too small and may have rounded first two threads in scope. They sent another that looks too big, so I'm trying to get that straighted out.

Otherwise I'm impressed with the scope so far.

The sniperscopes are a GREAT deal for the money and a good intro scopes for people who do tactical precision competitions.

The big advantage is the amount of elevation you get with it, enough to allow you to shoot up to 1000 yards easily (which you won't get from a Bushnell scope as of 2008)

The glass is not as good as a Leupold but those are great scopes for the money and quite reliable.

The 3200 offers 100MOA, which paired with a 15MOA base, should be able to get you to 1000, i think.
