I have two EOTechs - a 512, close to 20 years old.
I also have an EXPS2-2 that I've ben using for maybe three years, I'm not crazy about the lower 1/3 cowitness (I prefer absolute) but I do like that it is shorter than the 512, it helps with limited railspace and a flip-up rear sight and a flip to side magnifier and the EOTech.
I really don't understand the hate for EOTech. Their 65 MOA outer ring gives me some options that I don't get with a single dot.
The 65 MOA ring can be used as a rangefinder 0f sorts – EOTech says that the average adult male is 5’ 9” in height – at 100 yards that adult male will fit the entire 65 MOA ring. At 200 yards, half the ring, at 300 yards one third, at at 400 yards, one quarter of the ring.
As well, it can be used for hunting, the girth of a whitetail is roughly 16-18 inches. At 25 yards, this girth fills the 65MOA ring. At 50 yards, half the ring, and at 100 yards, roughly one quarter.
