    Fake Eotech?

I was browsing Craigslist (yeah, I know), curious to see if anyone had some sights for a decent price. Anyway, I find a listing for a used "Eotech" with an asking price of about $350. Ask for pictures, and they text them to me. The seller states her sister is active duty military and that her unit cleared out an abandoned armory, so that I should have no worries about it being fake. First red flag, to me. Then she sent me the pictures below. I notice no branding, and she says it might be due to them being military equipment. I never used an Eotech while I was in the military, and have only had VERY brief experiences with real ones, so I kept an open mind. And according to her, the laser on the side is an attachment.
Anyway, I need your guys' opinion(s). Tips on what to look out for to distinguish fakes from real ones?

Yeah, I figured that. But as I stated I have pretty much zero experience with them. I've looked into new ones, and noticed how there are a few that look pretty much the same; different models and different prices, and since this one is "the real deal but doesn't have markings because it's military equipment," I couldn't tell if I'd be buying a sight that would be $500 BNIB, or a $415 BNIB (if it was real, of course).

Battery type. Usually two AA or one cr123 type. Holographic sight is laser and grainy and NOT red dot red haze. There is no green eotech "night vision" mode. The only version of a laser pointer on a eotech is if u buy the laser component that attaches as a battery hood. Costs about 300 bucks by itself. All eotechs will say for law enforcement/military. But knock offs say that as well. I have the 512 model and the zombie stopper. I really think they were worth the price. For a used eotech, expect to pay around 250 or so.

What's so funny? The "abandoned armory" could have been in a Chinese warehouse?

One day at the range, a buddy of mine let me mount and try his fake EOTech ("the internets say it's as good as the real thing!") on my then-iron sights rifle. Two shots later the thing basically disintegrated. I looked it up and it was basically an AirSoft EOTech.

When it came time for me to actually buy, I bought a real one. 512's go on sale quite often (I think I paid just over 300) and for me, I'm perfectly happy with it.

Bad sale all around. Either they are selling stolen military property or they are trying to pass off fakes as mil spec for those that don't know any better. Either way, move along...JMHO

I have one for sale with FTS magnifier on an adjustable larue mount for $525

Looks for side buttons if you want to put something behind it.

They are nice for sure, I just haven't used mine munch and not for a few year and mostly shoot bolt guns now.

I'm trying to imagine the military using red lasers attached to an EOTech... i just can't see it happening. The laser would be useful for only nighttime situations in close quarters and give away your position instantly?

                          Pretty sure that's a fake.

                            It's fake.

Also if something was from the military (this item is clearly fake) then it's stolen and CID/NCIS/AFOSI/FBI/DHS will be coming for the product (It has happen)
