QD is a concept for AR shooters that want high speed gear- and take off the scope to use BUIS- if the scope tanks-
Bolt action/precision rifle- Not an important feature... Scope toast- rifle toast-
Once you get it setup right, you leave it alone- messing with things only messes with your zero, and it isnt a 'precision rifle' anymore- since you dont know what it's going to do.
For the price of some fancy QD thingy.... you can get a good base and rings from a number of good manufacturers. They're way more solid than most qd too. Set it, and forget it.
After trying out my setup, I pull it apart again and use a small amount of blue loktite on everything. Most stuff says no loktite, but I've had stuff come loose before- once you check everything works, a dab of blue (removable) so it doesnt budge, and just leave it alone unless you need to pull it for some reason.
