I think I'm the only person on here that likes the Glock GTL 10 light. It could use 10-20 more lumens, but it's still pretty darn bright. I like the way the design mimics the slide.

I almost invested in one myself, but held off. I recall it being too bulky for my taste.

        Surefire

        Easy right??
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I had a TLR-3 on my bedside Glock 17 for a long time. Good amount of light for dark, indoor situations. I upgraded to an X300 recently, it is much brighter, but not so much that I'm blinding myself. It also seems easier to find holsters that are compatible with the X300 versus the TLR-3. I'd say either is fine.

Surefire X300 or TLR. Flip a coin and call it a day.

Here is a thought (a month late to the thread) For me, the TLR-1's have been very very consistent and reliable on my glocks. You can't beat being able to take them off quickly with the thumb screw (almost a quick detach feature) and the batteries in them last forever! I have had the surefire, but not any better for the price. I would shy away from the strobe feature on some models - keep it a simple on or off - either you need light or you don't. What CAN go wrong probably WILL under pressure (strobe comes on instead of off, or instead of constant)! Also with strobe, what could dis-orient someone down stream, can also dis-orient your OWN vision/aim, etc... Just a thought... What the other guys said earlier about the high lumen models being too bright indoors was a good point that I hadn't thought of since recently I was contemplating trying a brighter one. I have the standard 90 (or so) lumen models that came out a couple years ago, and they have been very adequate so far.

mmmm.... theres a reason people forget them. any light that can be popped off your gun with 2 fingers isnt worth it.

Streamlight TLR- best value for your $

                    Surefire X300U- most durable

Insight M3X- huge, plastic, not that bright

InforceAPL- small, plastic, mount is not secure

                    Viridian- LOL

edit: dont worry about people telling you too many lumens will blind you. the only problem you will have with that is light reflecting off of muzzle blast like high beams on a foggy morning. but thats where your technique and movement come into play.

the point: whatever you go with, train with. train hard, get fast. learn what happens when you actually shoot in a dark room. get as much low light practice as you can because the chances are the poor dickhead that breaks into your house will have literally NONE. now you have the leg up in the fight.

the surefire X300 ultra WITH glock remote cord is your best bet. Yes it cost more. but you only have to cry once pay once...plus its a local southern calif. based company...so if you need a repair, the turn around time is quick...or...drive by their will call shop (fountain valley)and have it done while you wait..excellent customer service....you get what you pay for. I have 4 of them...no complaints.

                          I've got the TLR-1 HL (630 lumens) on my G19 / G17 and 1911.

Its not too bright and I've trained with it in the house in the dark. What I like about the brightness is that you can keep the gun at low ready and shine the light off the floor - the ambient light lights up the hallway/room/whatever without completely killing your night vision.
