And a $600 safe still provides more protection than no safe at all. Especially if hidden from plain sight, bolted down and placed in a corner with a wall on the opening side of the door.

      Can anyone supply interior dimensions?
Needed to order KEE lighting if I purchase this safe just need to know exact interior Width & Heigth (and depth as well just to know)

Also what is the exact Heigth and Width of the interior carpeted door panel as well? May want to order a door organizer as well.

AND ... Any update from owners of this safe on how they still like it and how it's held up?

      Thanks so much!

Interior dimensions are on Costco, com. Door panel is just under 19x50. I like mine.

Didn't see the Specs tab ... Thanks

Wanting to find out the doors exact measurements so I can make sure this door organizer will fit.
Anyone using one? I'm curious if the organizer added to door would have clearance to close and not hit shelving etc.

Does this safe have a lip around the entire front insides of the safe? Where LED strip lighting can be installed without being seen? Most do on the sides and top, what about the bottom?

          Thanks for the help guys.

Just wanting to get as much info as I can before purchasing

Ya I saw those specs after you said they were listed on the sight ... failed to click the "Specs" tab.

Is the door panel 19"x50" exactly? You said just under ... like within like 1/4 or 1/2" or something? Just wanting to order a organizer but need to make sure it fits correctly and it not to big or way to small.

Anyone know how often these Bighorn safes go on sale? I'm considering the 30" wide version of this safe and have seen posts indicating it goes on sale in the mid $800 range.

As far as overall security of the "cheap safes" are concerned. Every "home safe" sold (including your $5K beauty) can be compromised in 10 minutes if you ignore the fact that a huge amount of noise is generated. A 'cold saw', disk/cutting grinder, plasma cutter, etc will go right through 10 gauge steel walls like a hot knife through butter. Again, these "home safes" are only designed to slow down the bad guys.

Oh, I have an older Winchester Safe and it was an excellent purchase (no regrets).

                cheers

I have been researching this for the last couple days and I saw a couple places online saying these tend to go on sale like very 3 months or so seems like.

I would think next month after this one is not longer on sale and back up to $799 another model they carry will go on sale I would assume.

This safe seems like a Killer deal for the price when I am not a safe snob .. I just need something to throw my guns and stuff in for added protection and to keep them somewhat fire-proof in case that may ever occur along with when people come over to my house I want something to put my few handguns I have around the house in (and not just throw them in my range bag and lock it up).

I know guys get all nuts and say "you get what you pay for" ... Yep I know it's limitations ... but I think for Most all guys needs unless they own a $#!t ton of guns or valuables something like this for the needs I stated above is Perfect and a great price that comes with Costco's backing along with a lifetime warranty.

I have insurance on my stuff so if I ever lose them to some burglar having the time to break into my safe more power to him I guess ... I won;t be out money thats for sure the guns may be hard to get back though).

Still haven't ordered yet but I think I ultimately will.

                    It's 19x50 like a 2x4 is not really a 2x4. Maybe a quarter under each way.

Anyone move this across tile on a dolly?

Is this to heavy to move over 12" tiles entryway?

If so maybe removing the door would help reduce the weight enough to move on tile?

Would be using an appliance dolly I would think.

Just preparing for how I would get it in the house with my large raised tile entryway

I think as long as you are careful it will be fine. It's not going to crack tiles by just rolling over them. If you dropped it, that might be another story.

I took the door off mine and used an appliance dolly to move it upstairs. Pretty easy with three people. Then again, my brother is 22 and ultra in shape unlike me. He probably could have moved it up the stairs by himself!

I'd play it safe and lay down plywood to protect the tiles and have both a smooth surface to roll over, and spare plywood to use elsewhere in the garage later.

Ya that's what I was thinking but wanted to see if anyone had done it and it was fine.

For the price of a couple sheet of cheap 4x8' something it's probably better to be safe then sorry I'm sure though.

Check out this video on moving/installing a safe:

I've moved a very heavy safe (600+ pounds) with a technique similar to what was demonstrated in that video.
