New guy here, so I'm interested in learning. I've started doing a bit of research on safes lately. Many companies, even reputable ones that charge high prices, seem to make the walls out of 12 or even 14 gauge steel. That's thick enough to make the safes heavy, giving the impression of quality and security, but thin enough that a fireman's axe or power tools can get through them.
Still, some security is better than nothing. If you can find out the materials, you'll be able to make a more informed decision.
