    Price Inquiry For Pawning Guns

Sorry if this is in the wrong section I had trouble finding which it would belong in. My family's down on their luck and we're going through some stuff so unfortunately we have to pawn our firearms for now as we need quick funds asap. I wanted to get a price inquiry on them but I'm not exactly sure the makers/brand but was wondering on a rough estimate. They do have sentimental value, so I wouldn't want to sell them. I'm located in Orange County, California.

    1. 30 Odd 6 Ruger 700
    2. 570 Wingmaster 12 Gauge
    3. M1 Garand
    4. Mini 14
    5. M1 Carbine
    6. 22 Caliber Bolt action
    7. 22 Caliber 19 round topload
    8. 16 Gauge
    9. 20 Gauge

    Welcome to CGN.

Unless it's a valuable collector piece, I'd say they would take 30-40% off retail, then offer 50% of that amount.

I'd say the Mini-14 would be worth around $300 +/- in pawn value to a pawn shop depending on model and condition.

    Good luck!

Sell them to us! I'm sure you'll get more money here on CG.

Yes I'm aware of that.. The thing is though we would want the guns back as they were my dad's that were handed down to us after he passed away.

The last gun I pawned was about thirty years ago. It was worth $600.00, and the max loan amount was $200.00. They would lend a third of what the gun was worth. But even back then, when it was time to pick up, the gun would have to be reDROSed! At the time there was no charge. All of the pawn shops in my neck of the woods have since stopped taking in guns. I didn't know other pawn shops were still doing it.

Welcome, pictures always help. Pawning is a short term loan if you are going to need money for a while it's not the way to go

                  Yes, usually 60-90 days

If your late you'll lose them, think carefully about this,, as it's real easy to mess up an lose out, of course the pawn broker will be exceedingly happy with your mistake.

My recommendation is sell a couple of the run of the mill firearms here, (nothing off roster) for what you'll likely get from pawn for all of them, just buy another later if you like them.

I know you can't put $ on dads stuff, but if there is the slightest chance of you not be ponying up when due, & a chance you could possibly lose them all, then do the above.

^^^this only if not sure of paying back in time, stuff happens all the time IMO.

Good luck, & sorry to here your on a financial low, take care.

A pawn shop I have visited said they usually take low wholesale plus 40% to 50% off that price for pawn. Whatever they offer is terribly low and quite insulting - just my opinion.

You will get next to nothing, risk losing the guns, have to pay fees to CA to get them back and most Pawn Shops no longer deal in guns. Also some of those guns based on the very basic description and no pics aren't worth very much.

If you take pics and post them here we can better assist you in a value range.

                          I concur with this.

Keep the Mini-14 for HD and SHTF and sell everything else -- the Garand and M1 Carbine should be an easy sell depending on condition. Most dads wouldn't mind helping out their family from the great beyond.
