If we go that route the address on the FFL could also be forged.

They can call ATF to verify the premises or mailing address on your FFL is legit. But if you ask them to ship to a different address there is no way for them to know if that is really your address. Somebody could send them an unaltered copy of your FFL and then ask them to ship to a completely different address that they claim is your work address. They wouldn't need to forge anything.

Lorax could have said "shipped into California" instead of "shipped to your licensed premises", but he was just trying to differentiate between stuff you have shipped to you and stuff you pick up yourself while out of state.

It's perfectly legal for you to have C&R firearms shipped to your work address if you can find sellers that will do it. The seller would be crazy to do it though unless they know you personally.

This is exactly why I got a second C&R in NV.
