I am going to bump this simply because I am curious if anyone else is waiting on a COE who mailed in December.
    Mailed it 12/13/2015
No news yet (yeah I know... they probably took 3 weeks off for the holidays)

Just curious if anyone else is in the same boat.

I finally got off by butt and sent in my app last Friday 1/9/15. Getting the LiveScan was quick and simple. It's going to suck if it takes 30+ days. Some people last year were getting them in a few weeks or less.

Most of the costs are listed on the form:
"You must pay the Live Scan operator a $54 DOJ fingerprint processing fee and Bureau of Firearms (BOF) eligibility processing fee, a $17 FBI fingerprint processing fee, as well as the Live Scan operator's fee (Note: the Live Scan operator fee varies by Live Scan site, and the BOF does not regulate or set this price)."

          My total was $89
$54 + $17 + $18 (operator fee). Some operators charge more, some less.

Mine took exactly 4 weeks. I sent the application on a Friday, received my envelope with a printer paper sheet COE Friday 4 weeks later.

My costs were basically same as rdfact, although my operator fee was $25.

                          Mailed 1/9, arrived 2/10.
I find it amusing that the cover letter is on letterhead from the office of Kamala Harris.
