They came out today and were really friendly. They just asked to see my ID and asked why my address was different and I explained why and she said ok. She asked if I had a safe and I do so she asked if she could see it so I showed it to her. She didn't ask me to open it and I wouldn't have if she had. She then went over some rules with me. I asked her why me and she said they were going to be doing more of these inspections for new applications in the future. She also told me that in the future they may not allow people to be audited at there place and that they were going to be doing more home inspections.

All in all it went well and she said I will be getting my 03 so I am pleased.

Thanks everyone for your advice and help,

      Mark

The safe is not a requirement but she asked so I showed her.

              May not allow!?!?

BATFE has no choice in the matter. They are required by Federal law to allow Type 03 FFL's to choose between an inspection at the 03 FFL's premises or at the closest BAFTE inspection office.

I should say that this is probably only for San Diego county.

I am sensing huge levels of B.S. from your visitors, but I am glad your encounter went smoothly.

I would guess that people were bringing their collections with them to the office. Seeing a guy carrying an SKS and a SVT40 down the hall would make anyone nervous.

Here's a question; I just received my C&R in the mail today, and also picked up a M95 Steyr since the waiting period ended today. The rifle was purchased on the 14th, after I sent out my C&R application but before I received it. Does it get logged in my logbook?

You don't have to log it since you did not possess your license when you started DROS on the rifle.
