    Help with C&R app

    Update!

I still haven't got my C&R yet but the ATF called me today and wants to come inspect my house. Is this normal? Any one else had them come out before they got their license?

I have a couple questions on the C&R app.
    1. I have lived in San Diego for 7 years now but my drivers license still says my parents house in OC. Should I use my parents address on the application of the SD address?
    2. It asks if I have a hunting license I do not. Below this question it says something about not being allowed to have a C&R if I don't is this a big deal?

    Thanks,

Use the San Diego (your current) address. That's also the address where the guns will have to be sent, if you put the parent's address the guns will have to go there - the sending FFL or individual has to mail to the address on the FFL.

I don't have a hunting license, haven't had one for a bit - are you certain you're not misreading? I've not heard that a hunting license is a requirement.

IIRC the hunting-license requirement is only for non-immigrant aliens. Change your DL to your current residence address and use that on your app.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have never changed my address since I got my license in 1987. I move so much it would be a pain in the butt to do it everytime. I will use the San Diego address.

          Thanks,

When I sent copies of my license out to the vendors I also photocopied my I.D. with my FFL.

                Why did you do that?

About 50% of the vendors to whom I sent my FFL03 also wanted a copy of my drivers license.

My third 03 FFL expired in July, and I have never had anyone ask for a copy of any identification in addition to the copy of the license itself.

                      Hey Tom!

                      Welcome to Calguns!

I don't get to talk to you guys over on Parallax Bill's site much anymore since Yuku really hates my computer.

But yeah, none of the vendors ever asked for my Driver's License, and I sent copies of my FFL to all of the regular places. In fact, for the places where I only bought ammo they specifically ask for either a DL or an FFL.

                        Hello,
I was also thinking about getting a 03 C&R FFL, just wondering how hard it is? Do you just fill out the application and pay? Or are there any other requirements besides age and citizen or resident?
Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?

I mailed my application on 9-29 and they cashed my check on 10-6. I am still waiting to find out if I was approved.

No, that is not normal. You might want to call them back and make sure they understand that you are applying for a C & R and not a 01, 07, or other license.
