where can I find 9mm barrel for CZ 52? only barrel needs to be changed or anything else needs to be done to shoot 9mm? Whats the market value for CZ 52 7.62X25 version?

Barrels are hard to find now and tend to be $$$ you can always check Gunbroker and EBay.

I bought one in 9mm years ago from SOG. I swear they just bored out the original barrel to fit the 9mm.Accuracy was so poor,you couldn't commit suicide with the thing

I sold mine last year for $250. I think that is still a fair price. Though I've seen them listed here for over $300.


BTW, the last 9mm barrel I saw on GB was over $300

I have one I bought in basically unfired condition from the Dealers Whse in Cal. about 12 years back.

Very well made, extremely accurate. Ergonomics could be a lot better, but still the gun doesn't present any real problems once you get past that rather large grip frame.

I stoke mine with handloads....7.5 of bluedot under a cast 100 gr. wheelweight based bullet lubed with alox. Shoots as good as any smith I've owned.

I have never had a failure to feed or fire with either my handloads or S&B's ammo. Did have a problem with some of the import surplus stuff, but usually it went on the second try.......old & poorly stored I guess.

Downside: heavy gun, single action only...parts may or may not be problematic but I know that gunparts does have some & last I saw was still offering bbls for 30 to 40 bucks per.

You could do a lot worse but there are a few items you ought to be aware of....first the firing pins are reputed to be somewhat brittle & will break if dry fired too much. Secondly, the safety mech. contains a de-cocker that is alleged to sometimes fail & fire a round on being activated.......dunno, hasn't happened to me & I'd trust my life to mine.........BUT, mine was a virtually new gun in condition when I got it...a lot of the stuff out there has been rode hard and put up wet.

I haven't seen a 9mm barrel in a few years. IIRC, they were originally sold by SAMCO or maybe SOG or maybe Federal Arms. No other changes need to be made, other than the barrel.

ON THE OTHER HAND...

Century imported, as the story goes, 1000 or so 9mm guns that were re-arseneled by CZ Brno and factory-converted to 9mm. I have one.

Great accuracy, numbers all match, including barrel s/n matched to frame.

Takes standard CZ mags with no feeding issues. A great pistol.

I think it's premature to pass on any weapon based on one post. Obviously, there's a MAJOR difference here between a drop-in barrel not fitted to the gun, v. a barrel installed at the factory.

Current pricing seems to be $250 for a 7.62 beater, $300-350 for a clean gun.

No idea on pricing for a factory re-arseneled 9mm, as you just don't see them for sale.

Hard question to answer. The 9mm's are extremely scarce, but you can pick up a factory barrel in 7.62 and have a dual-caliber gun that converts back and forth in a minute or 2.

It's like any other C&R, and I'm not sure popularity has much to do with it...it's more of an "eye of the beholder" thing...

For me, I've never seen a "bad" CZ weapon, the -52 is a great full-size pistol, and the ability to shoot anything in 9mm is icing on the cake.
