Hello,
It has a slightly longer, slightly heavier (152 grain, IIRC, vs 147 grain), mild steel core bullet boattail bullet.
Velocity is reduced to around 2700fps.
Because the bullet is longer (due to the steel core and slightly heavier weight) it is better matched to the Mosin's 1:9.5" rifling.
It's also loaded a bit more precisely, but it's not really much better than modern commercial ammunition.
Consider that the average troop's ammunition had bullets weighing from 146 grains to 152 grains and powder charges all over the place, the 7n1 was a definite improvement.
It is not an improvement over modern ammo.
Regards,

Can I ask what kind of rifle you want to shoot with this kind of ammo? If you already have a tin of this stuff why not open it and try it? I think unlikely you can buy a 20 round pack.
Pics are always nice for the thread.Comment
