The AR platform is probably the finest combat and police rifle ever made. But all the bling and shooting industry hoopla over it turns me off personally. I do have experience with the first gen M-16 and liked it a lot.
My son in law bought a del ton AR and i honestly i only shot it to please him.I just cant bring myself to want one. Ultimate accuracy is not a factor in what i like to shoot. My much maligned thin barrel mini 14 is a hoot to shoot, and with the matching birch hand guard i put on it makes it quit handsom.

I went to pick up my PU from the UPS will call window on the way to work just now. There is never a line there. Except today.

With only a few minutes time to grab it and go, I was stunned to see at least 50+ people lined up and wrapping around the building.

It turns out the line was all the fanbois in line to pick up their new iPhones..... Bobby's quest to retrieve his Russian prize was thwarted by an inpenetrable wall of skinny jeaned, Buddy Holly glasses wearing automatonic sheeple holding a candlelight vigil while waiting for their latest and greatest craptastic techno fashion statement phone.

So now I am at work, and did not get my rifle. However, the lemmings are safely tucked in at Starbucks, gleefully swiping and friending and snapchatting and sending duck-faced selfies to each other by the dozens. Later they will "check in" from Denny's as they rack up an all night tab of $5 for sipping on the same cup of coffee and icewater, posting lengthy blogs and Yelp reviews and first impressions of their iPhones which no one else in the world will ever read or care about whatsoever.

You could have just announced in a loud voice: "I am here to pick-up my new sniper rifle." The sea of shocked and disgusted hipsters would have parted and run to their Priuses while bemoaning a society that allows baby killers to roam free. The last you would have seen of them is their "Hillary in 2016" bumper stickers...

Nothing was like opening that box to see my PU for the first time. It is something special. ENJOY

The picture above is Roza. I never knew of her story until I searched that picture posted above. I've heard stories and read about Lyudmila Pavlichenko 309 kills.

Roza's story is sad that she died at the age of 20 years old. While defending a Artillery Officer under attack.
