A conversation overheard at the range:
"Dude, your PU sniper is awesome.."
"Dude, so is yours. Probably nicer than mine.."
"No way! Yours rocks. Waaaay nicer than mine!"
"Well anyway, they are both awesome!"
"You know what else? WE are awesome."
"Hell yeah we are. Let's crack open another spam can!!" (High Fives all around)Comment

At the range
Another conversation at the range, look at those two with those old beater rifles. My super duper AR 98 is way better. Why are they smiling so much. how come they have not come over and drooled over my AR and ask me many questions about sub MOA. Gee seems other shooters are now talking to them about those old beater rifles.I guess it is time to load up and go home.Comment

I did like that episode of Family Guns when the guy took the Mosin PU to the range and shot it with the sniper team. Definitely not super accurate rifles by modern standards but the history and design more than makes up for that. If I had the money, I would buy one, they are probably about the coolest mainstream C&R you can buy for under $1,000.00
Let us know how they shoot for you Bobby and Glennsche. I am envious.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

If you collect Mosins a PU is a must. The price for a real WW 2 sniper with tons of history is under 800 bucks. sell some other rifles if you must to own one. It hurt for me to come up with 750 for the one i got but i found a way. i think i sold 2 rifles to get it.Comment

I say thank God for government waste. If government is doing bad things, it's only the waste that prevents the harm from being greater.

What kind of government do you guys got here? This is worse than California.

I think the EBR has its place. I have those and I shoot them probably the most because they are tools that are important to maintain proficiency on. But your overall sentiment is spot on. They are generally uninteresting, mass produced dime a dozen TOOLS. It is a real snoozer to see people at the range shooting AR's Everyone gathers around the Garands and Mosin boomsticks. The really cool kids will break out the k98's and k31's too. Throw a Russian SKS in the mix and now you have a party.Another conversation at the range, look at those two with those old beater rifles.
