    If you have a C&R FFL and a Certificate of Eligibility you can cash and carry C&R pistols (50 years+ old) as well as C&R rifles from a dealer.

      Yes, for those whom live in california and have had to put up with insane laws, the concept that you can buy and walk away with a firearm is so far out of the norm, it seems like a trap.
      And if it seems like a trap, it probably is one. They're just waiting until they collect the info on enough people, and then get them all... You'll see... You'll see... I got it on the best authority - Dale Gribble. The guy knows stuff.

        I believe I just answered my own question while browsing the ATF website but in an attempt to fully understand C&R... If I were to buy a shot gun at said gun show, say a 1956 H&R or Stevens SS. would this constitute a C&R gun and thus be eligible for a FTF transfer? The gun isn't "historically significant" but it is over 50 years old. This is kosher, yes?

        BTW anyone looking to unload an old SS?

          Vallejo was one of the few shows without all those signs saying such so not sure if it was a local law or not.

          Vallejo though was very strict at the last show that all firearms had a tag, dealers, private sellers, and hobbyist. All guns leaving the show were checked against the tag. Maybe for loss prevention? Maybe to control transactions? Maybe someone knows.
          I believe the signs also say "In accordance with the law." or words to that effect. The 50 year old C&R long gun exemption is in accordance with the law.

              As I understand it, the purported loophole is perceived only because so many people are present and doing it at the same location - they're not doing anything differently (or illegal) at a gun show that isn't being done in back yards or at garage sales across a particular state.

              For example, in NV if I (as a NV resident) want to privately sell my rifle to you (another NV resident) I simply sell the gun to you directly. We don't need to go to an FFL dealer. That's the way it is in many states - probably most states. In CA, we can't do "cash & carry" private sales of modern guns, so even at a gun show it's off to the dealer - same as would be done if you & I (if both CA residents) would do if we happened to meet at the range & do a deal.

              A CA resident who goes to a gun show in NV and buys a modern gun is violating the law. He could just as easily go to NV any weekend, open up a penny trader magazine and buy a gun at a backyard flea market or from someone's home.

                  Yep, he's right. Private party sales are cash and carry. My buddy called me from a gunshow in New Mexico where he just picked up a side by side 12ga.

                    So you're telling me I can go to a Reno gun show, buy a modern rifle from anyone (private party), and as long as it complies with all state regulations, it's good?

                    wow!

                      No, it is not ok to buy a modern rifle from a private party while out of state. Thats a fed regulaiton.

                        Dfletcher was just pointing out that buying from an out of state back yard flea market or someone's out of state garage sale is just as illegal as buying at an out of state gun show. There is no special "loophole" for gunshows. That's all he was saying.

                          Correct & thanks - sounded pretty clear when I wrote it a few days ago, but I see now it could mislead. I was simply pointing out that if a person wanted to break the law they don't need to wait for a gun show to do it.

                              Is this only true only for gun shows,or can my neighbor {who has no FFL}
                              sell to me {who has no FFL} an un-molested Inland M1 carbine without
                              the DROS paperwork and no wait ?
