I'm no expert but I think it's an Arisaka action receiver, and you'll be able to find out the model because it only has the one hole on the top of the receiver and some have two.
and at least it doesn't have any rust.

(I think I have a original bolt that would fit a Arisaka, if anyone's interested.) -

I think it is a type 38 -- no integral receiver tang.Comment

I just looked at a bunch of pics and the Type38s have 2 horizontal holes while the Type 99 has one hole. Then again, I'm not so smart.Comment

well at least you know now that it's definitely a arisaka & if you change the title of this thread maybe some arisaka experts will come in here and tell you what you need or what model it is.
but before you do definitely put up another photo of a perfect bore with nice bright rifling..

He restored a 1911 that was in similar condition.
