    My Pre-war PPK

I've been wanting an earlier example off and on for quite a number of years, and when I found this 1939 model I went ahead and made the purchase. I figured as with all collectable C&R handguns, they'll keep going up in price. Being that it had a cracked grip and about 90-95% finish the price was a little more reasonable. I was able to repair it before it split any further and it seems to be holding up after a shooting session. At least one other advantage to having your C&R and COE is that when the transfer paperwork is done from your 01 FFL, you can take it home the same day. These early examples are very well built, and the 7.65 round (.32 ACP) makes for some easy shooting. All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase and these are great representations of the first double action automatic pistols ever produced.

      Nice K serial.

Well done - don't shoot it too much -

Why was I under the impression regarding PPK's, only the Manurhin version was the only ppk that is C&R listed?

I had a chance to buy one 10 years ago, but wound up not closing the deal due to my own stupidity.

          Congratulations on your excellent purchase.

            Gottmituns,

Only the Manurhin and the Zell A-Mehlis factory PPK's are listed in the brown book (page 29, below the collector's edition semi UZI) you are correct.
But as the K serial puts the OP's at least 75 years old - isn't this a de facto C&R?

Any and all wartime P38's through to SVW46 are listed as are pretty much any Luger combination -
The PP/PPK/PPKs is a strange omission considering the detailed list of "German" (that is how they are listed) NFA weapons on the list, not to mentioned individual Walther oddities that must have been added by collectors one at a time to the list.

I do like reading the book - Manurhin PP's or PPK's of any manufacture date are C&R -

Thanks for the info. You know what I am upset. In 3 years I have had two separate instances where different FFL's told me that they couldn't dros a 1960 nor a 1958 PPK which I would have purchased out of State (online). Because, they said, that the book, on the PP/PPK issue trumps the date.
Guninternational had one and I forgot the other place...
I am not not too fond of the Manurhin one just because of the sailor/anchor/made in france logo on the slide instead of the Walther logo Deutsch lettering. I know there are some Manurhin ppk's with the Walther logo on the slide, but very, very rare.

              Thanks again.

I recently picked up a WW2 PPK in the rare one million serial range,, Walther screwed up and went into the serial range by about 8,000 guns before catching the error. I wasn't looking for one in that range, just kind of fell into it. The early walthers are machining works of art and beautifully finished.

For those not heavily into collecting Walthers is that up until 1985 the German Walthers and the French "copies" were built in France at Manhurin. The german ones were assembled in Ulm, the French ones were finished at the French factory.

                        ???

Do you have to ask for a special viewing?

I don't see no gun from the OP

                        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Re-posted photos for your pleasure. I figured this thread was dead and gone some time ago. I generally don't leave photos in my managed attachments indefinitely.

That's one of the nicer ones I've seen. You got a keeper there.
