They got my DOB wrong on my COE renewal when it was correct on the original. I fixed it before sending in the paperwork.

CADOJ Incompetence?

1 for 3, .333 average. That would be just fine if it was their batting average.Just received my verification letters from the DOJ on three C&R pistols I bought out of state this year so far.
1. My Romanian TTC. They truncated the serial number by one digit and list the make as RU, which I suspect is Russian, not Romanian. I checked my forms, they are very clearly printed so it wasn't sloppy handwriting.
2. My CZ50, they got the serial number right but list the Make as "FOZ" instead of "CZ". So I guess my my CZ was made by Fozzy Bear?
3. The P64, they actually got it all correct!
This State! Guess 1 out of 3 is about the expected competence ratio for California Bureaucrats?Sorry, not sorry.

Didn't read anything, I'll just say, YES!Comment

Yes. I just got my verification back for a M1 Garand I purchased. The subject line in the letter states "RE: Collector's Report of Curio/Relic Handguns" , then in the body "....ownership for the following curio/relic handgun.........".
is right!

So far, they have sent me confirmation letters for every registrable C&R. They also are very timely on COE apps and renewals. That state is very responsive any time you are giving them your money. But try to get them to move on anything that doesn't include a check in it, good luck. Think DMV, Jury Duty, etc.
Getting these corrected, they already have your money, why would they actually want to help you correct their mistakes?Last edited by Capybara; 05-31-2014, 7:19 PM.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

I emailed the CADOJ a few months back about them allowing the option for a plastic CCW card and never received an email back. Flash forward a few months after I forgot about the fact and I had a voicemail that started out that it was so and so from the California Department of Justice. I about crapped myself until I realized why he was calling.
Somewhat off topic but I had emailed the Kern County Sheriff's Department to see if they would consider offering the plastic ID cards. A commander emailed me back and stated that he would love too but that it was up to the CADOJ and that they only had a certain amount of time to participate like the other agencies that do. I emailed the CADOJ to ask them about it and they called me back and said that it's up to the individual department. UGH!!!sigpic10mm collectorComment
