For those that are interested, the collection will start moving shortly after the auction. Arrangements with the Sheriff's Office and CHP means they will be bring only three vehicles down the hill a day. For those that don't know, the Littlefield Collection is actually housed at his residence in Los Altos Hills. Its at the top of a narrow, winding, residential roadway in that fairly exclusive area. It was a marvel that that many tanks were brought up that grade. My favorite story was about one trucker, not wanting to drive up the road when it was raining, actually dumped an M-48 in the parking lot of a retail center in town. Jacques got a call that night from the Sheriff, wondering if the tank was his....its the only tank actually DRIVEN up that road. Mr. Littlefield, you are missed sir.

Saw this announced sometime ago. Sad it wasn't really open to the general public.

Do you now about that fella north of Woodland on old 113 at Detlings Rice Dryer, Marchini's Corner, I think they call it. First time I met him he had 12 half tracks in there plus a bunch of odd ball military trucks. Last time I went by on the way back from Knights Landing he had a couple of Tanks in there. Said if the gate is open come on in. I haven't seen the gate open since that first time. He used to own a welding shop in Knights Landing, before the economy tanked and he was looking for work then.
