    The Littlefield Collection

It is an amazing collection. I was invited there twice.

Not only is there a huge collection of varied armor and armor vehicles. There is a very large stash of light firearms too. I believe most of the light weapons were decommissioned.

It was very cool to hold one of those Soviet RPG launchers and sight it down range.

My favorite was the fully operational Stuart Tank. I really love the Stuart.

Man, they filmed quite a few episodes of 'Tank Overhaul' at that collection! I would have died and gone to heaven if I could have actually gone there and visited.

I got a flyer from the Collings Foundation earlier this year that showed that they were getting the Littlefield collection. I was happy that they got it (having ridden in the B-24 last year), until I found out that they were moving it about as far away as possible in the lower 48.

I want to get into tank collecting - but, budget dictates that I will have to start with the motorcycle and sidecar - a toy one, lol.

Ummm, I think if you could afford to drop $1.4 mil on a tank, getting it home wouldn't be much of a problem.
So who's going to guard the gate and tell everyone the auction is canceled, why the rest of us bid?

I would love to have one of those tanks. I'm just about $1.399999 million short of the asking price. Any body care to spot me the rest?

I was lucky enough to tour it about 5 years ago. Amazing place.

I just visited there two weeks ago for the third and unfortunately, the last time. Its an amazing place and I hate to see it go. The docent told us that over a third of the collection will be sold off. The Panzer V Panther, if sold, will start at $12 million. They were much more lenient this visit, allowing us to climb inside several vehicles including the Panther

This is me in the driver's seat of a German Prime mover. This is the same vehicle featured at the end of the Dirty Dozen...I'm sitting where Lee Marvin sat!

The boneyard below the museum buildings....there were about 50 more around the corner
