You don't eat ground squirrels, unless you're reaaally hungry. They do make great reactive targets when hit with a Mosin, kinda like tannerite without the boom.

Yeah, there are major amounts of fail on this. The victim is definitely lucky to be alive, though very unlucky to have gotten hit by that .30-cal, no matter how "slow" it might've been going at that point. Wow. Since it's my home-town newspaper, I'll say that I've always been pretty pleased by the Portland Press-Herald. Yeah, it's still slanted, but they do tend to get straight-up facts right more often than not.

Not true. I can blast potatoes out to 100 yards with my scope on the first and only hit. Just depends on how well you work at being accurate with it.
