    Should have specified 91/30s.

Interestingly enough, one of my Finn Caps ('43 Izzy blued bolt) has the Finn Trigger and 2 block blade sight (with arsenal sighting line etched) but the '39 Izzy doesn't have either.

Not K98 - means it has no value

Passes bullet test (with picture) - put a .338 win mag in a .308 bore

Original - the way it was when I originally got it

Matching numbers - everything has been restamped to match, except a few

Unissued - not issued to me when I was in the service

      SS - total BS

      Bubba'ed - someone cleaned it

At this point, I have run out of all excuses for buying another milsurp.
As I unwrap my next cosmoline covered rust stick, my wife looks at me like I am nuts and says "another one???".
I have no words anymore so I jealously hug the rifle to my body (getting cosmoline on my shirt) frown at her, and run like a little girl to the back room where my safe is.

And yes, if I can see lands then they are "strong" lol

Yeesh, just go back and look at some of my for sale ads.

I like the term 'mechanically perfect' translated that means the gun fires and functions as designed, but don't look to closely at the finish.

I like "small discrete import mark" which means anything you can't see from space.

"never fired by me" means you couldn't get ammo for it, it doesn't exist, or you were afraid it would explode so you'll sell it to some other sucker.

"stock has the usual dings" especially when involving Russian rifles this could mean it was run over by a t34 at some point.

"bore is dark" may mean it is completely closed off with cosmoline and light cannot be seen from the other end.

to echo San Pedro^^ "functions as it should" means "I sure as hell wasn't gonna fire it"

"rare" might just mean it's the only one you have.

"definitely saw action" might mean it looks like my type 99. anyone who saw it knows what that one means.

"light frost in the grooves" could mean the bore looks like the inside of an old kitchen drain pipe.

"still has some cosmo on it" means that once you fire 5 rounds it'll be dripping out and burning anything it sticks to.

After awhile of trading C&R's on CGN, I realized we are all buying and selling our junk back and forth to each other...

              expensive junk!

I can't think of any funny descriptions myself

If I see "rare" in a title or description, I just leave right there. The chance it actually IS something rare is going to be very low

No certainly not, but I wonder sometimes. I just did a big job for a guy that collects antique marbles.

Thousands of them in big chests with pull out drawers. They are worth an insane amount of money and they are cool and useful I suppose..

My mothers family are all antique dealers, there isn't much in here that is newer than 1960, cept this computer maybe and some odds and ends.

I recently broke down and bought a modern cabinet set from Ikea, I turned down a number of offers for massive oak hutches, glass fronted cabinets and book shelves. Just the thought of dragging them up three flights of stairs makes me shudder. Sometimes I feel like I live in the gift shop of the 19 ought 1 worlds fair... Drives my wife crazy.

Referring to all this stuff piled up everywhere as 'junk' is my little joke.

                        Here's another one:

You use the word "mitchell's" as a pejorative.

"How many guns do you own" has several different answers depending on who's asking.

The answer will increase proportionately with the distance one sleeps from the questioner.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
