lets poke a little fun at ourselves

It is a little slow around here so i thought i would stir the pot AGAIN

Things said here on C&R and what they really mean.

    1. new never fired. means you shot it one time and did not like it . So you cleaned the hell out of it and sold it.

    2. dark but very nice lands. means it is not completely shot out.

    3. it eats cheap surplus ammo . means the better stuff sometimes jams.

    4. i did not sand the stock. means you only used 0000 steel wool and denatured alcohol for 6 Hrs.

    5. that beautiful tiger striped stock came that way on my 1943 Mosin.

    6. it shoots sub moa means your buddy is a expert shot and out of 2 clips he can put 3 rounds within 3 inches of each other.

    7. i never use a credit card to buy guns.

i could think of more but i thought i would let you guys take a crack at it.
PS i never sold a bad gun to anyone here ,and if it had issues i told them about it. those of you squeaky clean move on .

A real C&R is one you bought months ago but never fired, because ammo for it no longer exists

Should re-title this to "Seven Signs You May be a(n) *******"

You can use whatever vulgar noun of choice you want.

          # 4 should be "I'm too embarrassed to admit that I'm the bubba who sanded the stock."

"Will post pics when Im done with project" means I dropped it at Traps who is waiting for me to finish it with him so I don't ruin it

Your a Historical Collector, when you think a rust covered rifle with dried yak fat, smoke residue, and century old dirt has "Patina".

"Rare Blattvian variation" means you couldn't read "Century Arms, St. Albans, VT" thru the cosmoline and "patina."

And "Pancho Villa's personal gun" means you need a new hearing aid--what the guy who sold it to you actually said was "!Pinche Migra no me agarraron!"

You say "Quad rails are for wimps." You really mean "My bolt-action service rifle has more in common with a Civil War muzzleloader than a modern AR-15."

You can name every country on the face of the earth that had a Mauser factory.

You spend 3X as much on a Finn M39 Mosin because they're more accurate, then you feed it nothing but cheap light ball surplus ammo.

"I got a really great deal on this rifle" means I have no idea what this thing is worth!

A description of a mosin rifle for sale that says "extremely rare Mosin" means they're only half a million made of that variation.

this one is not CNR related ,forgive me, but when someone says they " own a 442. " do think smith and wesson (the j frame 5 shot 2 inch barrel revolver) or the oldsmobile muscle car.

How about the classic line we have all said at one time:
                          I am done buying guns.....
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Their Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today"

"I didn't pay too much for the rifle, I just bought it too soon"

Really means how you justify to yourself after the bidding war you got sucked into paying way too much for what the value of the rifle was, hoping some day that it will be worth what you paid for it.
