turners, as mentioned is a high-volume, multi-store company unlike most of the local mom-and-pops so they naturally get a lot more attention from DOJ, so this likely is just not a chance they want to take. nevermind the fact that it's not like one person they have to train in this stuff, but dozens. this is kinda the same argument about people that won't ship from out of state to California, it's just not worth the trouble for them. I don't harbor any negative feelings toward them for this.

CA has always deferred to the federal definition of a C&R. CA has no definition of C&R and just points you to the federal regulations.

no matter if a firearm was considered to be a C&R by the feds due to rarity (curio) or age (relic), it is considered to be C&R by CA.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I've had stores make me dros antiques some as old as the late 1870's. As for AZ stores not wanting to take a CA C&R you can't really blame them for not wanting to keep up with Byzantine CA gun laws.

A big store like J&G is a different story and they are a big enough seller to deal with it and see the light. If I was a small shop in AZ not doing as a mainstay of income I can see not wanting t to register for cflc and play the CA games.

Let us know how you like 30-30 Grendl, I am still waiting to find that take down 1886 at the right price, there is something timeless but retro about the lever action. Look forward to seeing pics.

              Will do Jesse.

Meanwhile, walked into my local Ventura County Big 5 and walked out with a Mosin in about 35 minutes flat. So the "big corporation" defense doesn't really fly.

When the CA gun laws started to got to heck years ago I went into a gun store in Reno, when I mentioned I was from CA they told me to leave as they won't sell me anything nor would they even let me handle anything including the blackpowder rifle I had been eyeballing. My local FFL Dealer told me they even made him 4473 a Blackpowder he had gone down to pick up for a customer. Luckily they are outta business now.
