I knew that the new laws would put a damper on the trade of C&Rs, but the thread count in the collectors exchange is down to 5 or less a day. I know FFLs and gun jail suck, but come on people you are letting them win.

The cash/carry and direct order was half the fun. Cheap shooting/history are the other half. C&R's have lost half their appeal in essence. Collectors can never support a thriving market (overpriced niche only), only shooters (active consumers) can. Just like any other thriving market.
The expensive American C&R's will feel it first since now you have high prices, transfer fees, waiting period, and to top it off expensive ammo. Might as well save money, get a warranty/support, new design ect and buy modern.
You think it's bad now? When the surplus dries up it will get dismal. Mosin's will be in real trouble when this happens. Mannlicher Carbine/Schmidt Rubin anyone?
C&R has been drying up for years now, this recent legislative change coupled with a ever dwindling supply of cheap firearm acquisitions and ever rising ammo prices to feed these old warhorses will be the death knell of C&R.Last edited by CAguy; 01-21-2014, 8:13 AM.Comment
