    Caught by the wife!!

Well I suppose it was only a matter of time....the wife saw the bank statement and now I'm busted!!! I purchased a stripped M1 receiver with some other parts for a garand build I'm starting.... Oh how the questions came so fast!!!

The only thing that saved my butt from the eternal dog house was my training as a Marine recruiter to charm and disarm!

Now to come up with a plan to finish the build without getting thrown out of the house...

Tell her you're sorry and that now she can buy any pair of shoes she wants.

Buy her a large diamond ring, then you'll be alright

Our gun ownership isn't the expensive part, it's the kitchen and bathroom remodels, purses, shoes and clothes that we have to let our wives buy to keep them happy that kills the finances.

Ask her how she gets away with all the stuff she buys. Get pointers.

Turn it around on her and ask her what she was doing out of the kitchen.

You only have two options. Stand up for yourself and say you can do what you want to do, that will likely start a war (Death before Tribute). Or offer her a tribute of gold and silver so she will not take your property and arms (Maintain the status Quo).

Just BBQ something and hand it to her - be sure to look goofy and pleased.

Guess what! My wife just came in and said "I just bought a new pair of shoes. How do they look?". "They look very pretty babe." She started going on about the shoes, but then stopped to ask "Why are you smiling like that?"

Apologize and, to make it up to her, offer her sex.

I am in the middle of two bathroom remodels as we speak...

Mostly on topic, does anyone here know the difference between a prostitute, a girlfriend, and a wife??

Sell another rifle you want to keep less than you want to get that Garand done, and buy your parts with that. I had to sell off a really nice 1917 BSA SMLE (my only Enfield) to fund most of the CMP service grade Springfield Garand I bought last year. My dad was one of Patton's infantrymen from summer '44 to VE Day, so the Garand is a whole lot more meaningful to me than any Enfield.

Or, sell off some of your ammo stockpile you might not need to keep as much of. Or become a certified concealed-carry instructor and earn extra cash to fund the C&R hobby.

There are ways, and I have faith in you.

                              Regards,
