    +1 For Allan's Armory

There is a lot of justifiable concern out there that new rules for 2014 will further alienate C&R dealers from wanting to deal with us.

I am glad to report that I tested the 2014 waters and placed an order with Allan's Armory for a nice early Chinese SKS (He has several).

As a new customer I followed the directions on the website and emailed my 03 + COE. Less than 24 hours later I get a notice that it is already shipped.

On top of all that, his prices are quite reasonable. 100% matching early /26\ with an UN-broken stock was $370 shipped to my door in a hard case.

Of course now there is the form and $19 to send in as well but at least we are still able to acquire stuff directly.

I would add that I also like the fact that you see photos and description of the exact rifle you are buying. No surprises, no disappointments, and no 'hand select' upcharges.

Hey thats great to hear. I should contact AIM and J&G about the COE. I need to get a COE to make my 03 worth while. Its still cheaper than going to an 01 a bunch of times and paying lots in transfer fees and tax.

Also I tried looking for the new long gun registration form and I can't find it. Did you find it?

Can't understand why out of State dealers give a fig about the COE? Isn't that a California thing only? They are obeying Federal and their local state laws as long as we present an FFL03, shouldn't the burden of compliance with our retarded laws be on us?

He did not ask for the COE, I just sent it anyway because I have it saved on the same generic email with the FFL. I don't know whether most out of state sellers will ask for it or not. It will be interesting to see how the new rules play out.

Thanks for the clarification Bobby. I too knew you would cave quickly on the not buying any more new rifles ;-) I feel like a recovering addict, I had two close calls over the holidays, I almost bought an Enfield and another BRNO ZKM468, Wideners had 'em in stock the other day. I shot two different sessions over the holidays with the BRNO and everyone who shoots it falls in love with it, it is fun to shoot cans of soda at 100 yards with it, very accurate, simple and looks amazing. I still get a kick out of single shot .22s, something so simple and fun with them.

My wife discovered two C&Rs, that sweet Finn M39 and a laminate 91/30 (I have the bolts in the safe) in the closet when she was vacuuming the other day. She asked me, how many guns do we have and I had to think fast. "I just have these up here because I need to clean them up, err, yeah, that's it." Bad answer, but she bought it. We have to save for a kitchen remodel now so no new C&Rs for me for quite a while. But the C&R bug is very tough to kick, especially with enablers like you posting ;-)

That is good stuff. Fast thinking to avoid the spousal interrogation! When Mrs. Ricigliano asks how many i have my desired response is NOYB, but I usually end up telling her the honest truth: "I have no idea, lost count a long time ago".

Yeah, I think I told her 12 or 13, when the reality is a lot more than that. But I did tell her what wonderful investments guns are (when I compare what my guns have accelerated in worth versus what our stocks and bonds have done), I can say that with a straight face because it is true. At the very least, you can always break even and often you can do really well.

I bought my CZ75 SP-01 in Texas for $609.00 two years ago, shot it a lot, but took good care of it, sold it last year for $850.00. Not a bad investment.

I received the Chicom from Allan's Armory today. Extremely happy with it. Light cosmoline, a well used but solid stock, 90% or so bluing, and all matching. It is an interesting 6 digit serial number (214***) and /26\ stamp. Not a Sino-Soviet, but apparently a very early Chicom Rifle is bathing in mineral spirits ATM but I will post pics when I get it cleaned up.

And yes it is getting registered

While I never bought from him, I did ask him a few question regarding some stuff and he seems to try his best to help those in challenged areas. He was willing to break down mags into kits for shipping.

Not that he can do that now, but that was still very nice of him
