With only 9 hours to go on the "cash & carry" shot clock, I finally got my hands on a pre-64 Winchester Model 1894 in 30-30. From the serial number, it looks to be a post-war 1947 unit.
Lots of patina and a fair amount of surface rust/freckling, and the butt-stock is cracked........ but the action is tight, the bore is beautiful, and the price was right.
I've been wanting one of these for a while, and now I have one.

Never was much of a Mosin kind o' guy. I own 3 - a couple of never-fired 91/30's and a Finn that I fired once or twice and then relegated to the safe. Had an SKS once too, but got over it pretty quick and sold it off a long time ago.
