sks piston rod problem

I used a bit of JB non-imbedding bore bright with a patch on a 20 gauge bore brush in my tube....it is clean of cosmo and looks nearly in the white and smooth. I did take the piston and used from bore bright with 0000 steel wool on my drill and spun it. It cleared up the piston of all the black on top and in the ridges.... but in the end, it didn't help my stickiness problem. I ended up going to my gun store and picked up non-US replacement and cleaned it up and slides in and out like my Yugo. I wasn't about to take any more metal (if any) on my tube although that may be the only thing that would work at this point. In the end, it seems safer to replace it vs. trying to round it out or displace metal on that myself. Two different pistons fit in my tube fine, but the matching one that came with it does not. I haven't micrometer'd it, but did caliper it and it seems at best the original is out of round.
Have you confirmed it is the tube and not the piston?sigpicComment

I swapped in my chicom piston and it works alright, but once i put in the russian, it gets stuck. i think the polishing down might be helping, because a few times it has slid in and out without a problem. the piston might just be out of round....not too sure i know anyone with a micrometer i could useOriginally posted by thrillhouse700I have to wait until all the info is in before I make a statement. Obviously the family dogs had it coming.... other than that, waiting on more info.Comment

chuck it in a drill and spin it in some very fine sandpaper. or just use the other piston....Comment
