Found out it is a 91/24 and bubba got to it. Can't figure out how to post the pictures here, even with help. Those sites are too complicated for me. Can always e- mail them to someone here, then they can post them on here. If there is a way to post them from Facebook on here, that would work, but don't want all my "friends" on Facebook knowing what I have.Last edited by Nevada Hudson; 01-09-2014, 6:28 PM.Comment

yep, definitely a bubba job. if you like it it might be worth restoring, but it won't be easy to get some of the parts. watch the auction sites for stocks and metal pieces. numrich has the handguard available but that's about it. or you can always sell it to some other schmuck like me who's crazy enough to try and restore these things. bummer about 91/24s is that they were made by cutting down '91 long rifles, and therefore removing the fastest section of the gain-twist rifled barrel. most of these are horribly inaccurate because the rifling is too slow to stabilize bullets. still look neat though. good luck whatever you decide.Comment

That rifle is in definite need of some TLC. But that can turn into a real fun project if you want to invest the time.

Will sell for what I paid for it, as it's beyond my capacity to restore it.yep, definitely a bubba job. if you like it it might be worth restoring, but it won't be easy to get some of the parts. watch the auction sites for stocks and metal pieces. numrich has the handguard available but that's about it. or you can always sell it to some other schmuck like me who's crazy enough to try and restore these things. bummer about 91/24s is that they were made by cutting down '91 long rifles, and therefore removing the fastest section of the gain-twist rifled barrel. most of these are horribly inaccurate because the rifling is too slow to stabilize bullets. still look neat though. good luck whatever you decide.
Will never buy anything again from Silver State Arms, as he said the stock was original like that. Yeah, right!Last edited by Nevada Hudson; 01-23-2014, 6:40 PM.Comment

Good call on the WWII collecting. I will stick with
Garand
M1 Carbine
Mosin Nagant
K98 Mauser
1903A3
Deliberately avoiding Enfields, Carcanos, etc. because I don't want any more calibers to deal with.Comment
