Not a bad start. Now to finish your collection all you'll need to get a K98, Mas36, Vz.24, Wz.29, Finnish capture rifle, Arisaka, etc...

+1 on the choices McNally mentioned. Maybe a nice Carcano and a WW2 era Yugo Mauser would pretty much round out a representative collection of the main combat rifles of WW2.

I have a nice, all matching, Ww2 Japanese 7.7mm Type 99 Arisaka, with bayonet that has the original scabbard and frog (these are scarce) for $350 if anyone is interested. The mum has been ground as is common with surrendered Arisakas, but the wood hasn't been cut on or anything like that.

That's what I'm doing too. Just bought a Carcano and starting to get buyers remorse on it. Looks like it is missing some parts on the stock, although the bore is very good. Any Carcano experts here?

Nice start, but you may want to rethink the whole "every country" thing.....

              Nice start

Personally I like these 3 better:

              "Oh, a wise guy, eh?"
"The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke speech of 23 April 1770, "Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents," delivered to the House of Commons.

I had several opportunities to get my hands on some really nice K98's this year, but I just didn't have the money. Next year will hopefully be better and I can at least add 1 to the collection.

Thanks, Will try to "borrow" my wife's camera. Looks like it is missing the top front handguard, the metal in front of the bottom handguard. It is a 1932 Beretta. Did not intend to hijack this thread, but saw nothing on Carcano's posted here.

Don't worry about the thread. Any C&R conversation is good conversation.

I would be interested to learn information on the matter as well. Post pics when you can get them.

A question for these rifles. What distance would you typically zero them at? Would 100 meters be sufficient for all 3? I noticed the enfield has 300 and 600 on the rear sight apature.

Just remember that most rifles from and before this time period were sighted in at about 300 meters.

^^^^ +100, generally battle zero on pretty much all these old buggers was 2-300 meters. there are exceptions to every rule of course. Finnish-modified carcanos had the front sight blades replaced to provide a battle zero around 150m. I'm sure there are others but not that I'm confident in saying. later fixed-sight carcanos were zeroed for 200 instead of 300m. that aside, usually on these things you flip up the rear sight, use the lowest setting and aim low or bury the blade in the V. once you get used to where your rifle hits it kinda becomes 2nd nature, unless you try to shoot 10 rifles every time you go out
