yeah; seems like a job better handled by a dealer ffl. Yeah; everyone has to pay $25 more for a dros... but that's just the way it is. You'd have to pay it at Big 5 anyway...

Yeah; but I don't think everyone really looked at it that way a year or more ago. Not until the recent straw purchase crack down and since then everyone thinking about those more...

25 for the DROS, CA state sales tax and whatever shop fees they want to charge. That's why everyone is trying to put together another failed group buy.

The Russian Ministry of Defense intends to utilize (read destroy and melt down) 4 million older model guns by the year 2015. These will be pulled from the stockpiles of estimated 16 million guns that are no longer in service with Russian Armed Forces. Roughly 6.45 million of these guns are no longer serviceable.

Though the types were not officially announced, a little birdie whispered to me that most of the guns slotted for destruction are Mosin rifles and carbines, SKS carbines, Nagant revolvers, TT33 Tula Tokarev pistols, a huge number of AKM automatic rifles, RPK and RPK-74 light machine guns and a small number of older PK medium machine guns.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is planning to send these guns to the factories where they were produced for disposal. Apparently this would keep in business plants like Molot and create 240 jobs. Meanwhile, Russia’s biggest arsenal Izhmash, had to suspend its destruction program after misplacing approximately 80 AKM rifles.

Molot must have a ton of 91/30s if they are selling for $100 retail. No pictures of the receiver, but these surely have the same "Made in Russia" Molot import stamp as the recent batch of M38s and M44s. LOL at Classic trying to pretend that these are some exotic "Molot Mosins" instead of regular round receiver Izhevsks that Molot was shipped for "disposal". At any rate, if this story is true, this really is the last of them. I will probably buy more in the near future.

I'm half tempted to get a half box, but that'd be way too much, and I'll have nowhere to store them

So shipping at a rate of 13 bucks per rifle is a bargain!

That's only $13 per rifle. That's a very cheap shipping price, compared to AIM or SOG or especially Samco! In fact, that's not much different than J&G's shipping price, which is considered pretty darn cheap.

I'll bet shipping on that M2 was a lot more!

Classic seems to be a little behind this week. When I ordered my first SKS a couple weeks ago I called in the morning and had my tracking number by lunch.

I ordered another SKS and a Mosin Monday morning and still no tracking number. It took six tries to get through on the phone only to be told they will ship out as soon as possible.

I wonder how much the 99 dollar Mosins have to do with that?
