i do not understand the YUGO hate amongst SKS owners. a 59/66 was my first SKS. i still have it. i love my chinese also. i think it comes from the yugo car stigma and some just do not like the grenade launcher hardware on it.
i am no expert but if you take a good look at the yugo it is very well made.

It's more of hate to having them be mutilated to be Ca. compliant. I love all my Yugo's both the 59/66 and the 59's. They are some of the nicest fit and finish guns next to my classic Russians.

I think a bullet button is a far worse mutilation than a sleeve over a device that the vast majority of people will never use anyway.

the one i have they just took a band saw and cut the launcher right off. then installed a POS muzzle brake held on with allen set screws. OMG
i did the best i could with what i had. i bought the proper die and re threaded the end and installed a neutered original launcher back on. if i did not like the rifle so much i would have sold it.
some of the lucky ones they at least only unscrewed the GL and you can restore it back to original.
thanks CIA for the butcher job. and especially thanks to CA for being a VERY STUPID state full of stupid voters.
