    YUGO SKS value

So with all the beater Chinese SKSs starting at 300 bucks. and J&G getting 500 for a so so russian. what is a real nice YUGO 59/66A1 SKS going for these days. I do not think more of them will ever come our way anytime soon.

Also 350-550 My Yugo is my favorite one. I say if you pay 300-360 you're doing ok if you pay anything more than that you are paying retail.

No Way a true SKS cynosure knows a YUGO SKS is the best SKS and newest ever made . i say 600 bucks. hell my local gun store has a rack of Chinese SKS and he wants 600 for one. i like my chinese SKS but the quality is not even close to the YUGO. the chinese feels like a toy compared to my 59/66 .

thanks for the offer. but i also have one that was new when i got it last year, one YUGO will last me a lifetime.I stole it for 350. Russian and Chinese are flooding the market.i think a nice 59/66A1 would start at 450.looking at that blonde wood and all new metal is SKS sexual.

One thing to consider is a Yugo 59/66A1 with a California neutered "grenade launcher" will not be as valuable in other states as an original rifle with it's grenade launcher intact.....

So maybe the question is a two tier question...What is the value in California, and what is the value out of California.....

Samco still has these rifles available in excellent to VG condition from $379.95 to $469.95

These rifles are rifles which have the intact grenade launchers, and as such would be more valuable to collectors....

Personally I'm not a big fan of the Yugo SKS type rifles due to the barrels not having chrome lining, and the issues corrosive ammo has on the GL shut off..........But to each his own....( I do though own two unissued examples)...

chromed lined would be a plus but i really clean and oil everything after a shoot. i have a tapco look alike on my neutered CA yugo. i am sure out of state it would have less value. if you want a nice one in CA i have as close to the real deal as you are going to get legally.

Yugos are actually my favorites. I have 2 of the 59/66 and 2 PAP59's. Even in CA you could pull $450 on a nice 59/66.

Just got my 1st yugo 59/66 a few months ago. $425, and frankly we were in mid-panic, I believe. An SKS was my first rifle in '94. Total soft spot for 'em.

Eagle Eye, that is a cool link. I wish they tracked more guns though.

My personal opinion is that the gas valve issue on the 59/66 is much ado about nothing. I only shoot Wolf, Tula, etc. No corrosive stuff. Removing the valve assembly should be part of regular cleaning, which takes an extra 30 seconds.

IF the part ever became an issue, it can be replaced cheaply as they are still in production as aftermarket parts. My 'shooter' 59/66 is one of the most enjoyable and soft shooting rifles I own.
