I see Dupage Trading has Chrome 1917s for $250. It says they're live shootable weapons. What do ya think worth it?

I took one for the team and placed an order to fill the 1917 shaped hole in my gun safe.
For only $277 total (they add a $15 handling fee?!?) why not?Last edited by Grendl; 11-06-2013, 4:49 PM.YOU NEED A GUN TRUST.

Grendl, can you please post a detailed review of functional condition when you get your rifle? If they have very nice bores I will probably order one as well.Comment

If the white paint strips off OK and reveals a decent set of wood, it would be worth it right there. US Model of 1917 stock sets are getting hard to find.Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

I will. The description says "Rifles are complete and in operating order" so I'll be unhappy if sights, bands, etc. are missing.
It appears that they have only 11 left, so you might not want to put it off too long however.YOU NEED A GUN TRUST.

for some strange reason i just cant get into wanting a 1917 bad enough to spend the money. i grew up with one in the house. i always thought is was unattractive. i am in no way saying they are not cool rifles. the ladder pep sight while one of the best ever put on a battle rifle just looks clunky to me.My loss.Comment

Really?
Really? I am just the opposite in that I think they are very attractive rifles. Maybe because it is the model that Sgt. York used during WWI, and the historical background of that particular model just appeals to me. But I understand that it is bulky compared to other bolt action rifles.

OK I ordered one this morning. I hope they will ship it to an 03 FFL, doesn't say yay or nay on their website. Payment site sucks too....it errored on me so I don't know if my payment went through.Comment

Errored on me too but in the error message it said "payment accepted" so I copied the message and emailed it along with a copy of my 03. I almost immediately got an email from them saying my order was being processed. :-)
