    Live Scan HELP!!!

    Hello;
    I got my Class-03 FFL C&R.

I wish to get my COE.

However, I am having extreme difficulty filling out the Live Scan form.

    There are:
    Mail code
    Department number
    Who to send information to.

The California DOJ website does NOT give out this information.

How do I fill this thing out?

The CA DOJ does not make things easy.

    Thanks!

    Have you done your COE?

I have no issues with filling out the COE.

The main issue I have is filling out the MAIL code and the other cryptic DOJ numbers in the Live Scan form.

I see data in the form he posted for what you're asking about. Maybe your browser is messing it up.

I downloaded the form, and opened it up with the Adobe Acrobat.

... and YES ... It does have the DOJ fields already filled out!

        Many THANKS to ALL!

Now you can help me . The only fees for the COE are the ones for the livescan right? I just had mine done and didn't see any other fees required for the actual COE that I have to mail.

IIRC, I had to send the DOJ a check as well, don't remember how much but I know it's only 22$ to renew. I've had my COE/03 for 5 years.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

that's the way it used to be, but as of the last year or so, the livescan operator collects all the fees needed, and you shouldn't need to send in any additional fees directly to CADOJ.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Yes, that is how it was handled when I got mine at the end of 2012. And oddly, the DOJ fees collected was less than the published amount but I still got my COE.

There's definitely a renewal fee, I just couldn't find one up front. It's going out today!

                    Ditto.

I did mine recently and the LiveScan operator, the police station, quoted me $10 for them and $49 for everything else but then they charged a total of $81. Referring to the form, their fees didnt jibe and were less. Also, I too was confused about the Bureau of Firearms fee but it was collected by the police, thats why the price went up to $81. The renewal is $22, you dont add $22 to the envelope containing the form that goes to DOJ.

Since I dont know if the DOJ bills each year, i marked the calendar to re-submit the form + $22 next year. You fill out the form each year but no LiveScan again. Well....unless your fingerprints changed lol

You do not have a "Class" 03 C&R FFL.

                      You have a "Type" 03 C&R FFL.

Yes there is a difference when talking about FFL's
                      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
