I have 2 K98's. Both are RC and neither is especially valuable. Both have EP'd matching parts but have many intact WA's. The one that I have shot performed splendidly. Even as a refurbed mixmaster, the action was butter smooth and the rifle is very accurate. 100% reliability in feeding as well as easily busting the primer off any type of milsurp ammo with no hangfires.
I can barely imagine what an all original early or prewar K98 handled like. They are sort of reminiscent of a fine Swiss watch. As much as I love my Mosins, there is no contest on the superior workmanship of the K98.
