INGSOC comes to America.
Sip your Victory Gin folks, time's are a changin'
Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, A time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories; They're all that's left you

If they give you a new reciever with new serial numbers you'll have to go through an FFL and DROS it Berretta should cover costs through as Ruger did, I just went through this with Ruger. Also remember you cannot ship ammo in the same container as a firearm.Comment

re: packing - I've found it's very helpful to use a ton of that strapping tape that's reinforced with the threads. Not just on the seams, wrap it around the whole package 1-2 places in each direction. That way even if they poke a hole in it (which happens suspiciously often) at least it can't spread too far.Comment

1. Best shipping method for ammunition.
2. Best packaging method for said ammunition.
3. Flame the OP.

What about the reverse? I had my CMP ammo shipped to a local Fedex Kinkos a few times before getting stung (the third time they sent it back to CMP without telling me!! CMP was super nice about it FYI).As mentioned, ammo or primed brass must be shipped via common carrier like UPS or FedEx. Their storefront operations won't usually accept the packages either and you'll have to drop them off at a customer service center instead.
The ammo should be in it's original boxes and packed so it won't rattle around.
The shipping carton should be marked with the old ORD-D label or the new version that's just a 2" B&W diamond.... as pictured here:

Will UPS retail stores also refuse delivery in everyone one's opinion?Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!
The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)Comment

My advice is, call the UPS location ahead of time and get confirmation from a manager that they will ship it for you.
If you just show up at a UPS store with your ammo, the clerks will probably freak out and run away from you. That's what happened to me

Seriously just because you're a girl you think we'll drop everything to help you? Learn to use the interwebs newb. UPS ships ammo all day long no problems. Just take it to UPS, scribble ORMD on it and if they ask you any questions tell them to STFU and waive a Gadsden flag, that's what I do, works every time.
Eh, I'm not real good at this flaming thing.
Anyway, last time I shipped ammo I threw it in a box, printed 5 ORMD labels and took it to the UPS hub. The person there chastised me for using duct tape and covered all of my duct tape in packing tape (duct tape gums the works apparently). He then asked me what I was shipping, I told him ammo, and he covered all of my self printed ORM-D labels with some ORM-D small arms cartridges labels he had at his workstation (after making sure I wasn't shipping 50 BMG). I had enough packing material in the box that nothing rattled when shook. The ammo itself was in a baggie.
I received a package via UPS similarly labed but in slightly less awesome shape with a bunch of loose ammo in a bag.
So
1) Use packing tape not duct tape
2) box up your ammo and use up the loose space in the packaging
3) affix ORM-D labels, maybe they change them maybe they don't. You have to affix labels to 4 or so sides I think? I'm not sure.
4) Ship from a UPS hub, not a UPS store

Forgot to add...the ammunition is C&R type ammo. That's why I am posting in C&R. Don't know if old ammunition needs special precautions.

The .50 cal stuff is only applicable to the cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles so far as I know... They have their own local ordinances against such calibers that don't apply in the rest of the state (for now...).....

Primed brass is not regulated for domestic ground shipment and does not have to be marked in any way. However, it is not mailable. As mentioned, ammo or primed brass must be shipped via common carrier like UPS or FedEx.
