Just make sure your school is OK with bringing "weapons" onto campus or, let anyone coming know that they can't even bring the knife in their mess kit. I would hate to see a volunteer end up in trouble when he is just trying to help educate our future.
    Thanks CSA,

    I'm up in Taft, but I am sure "weapons" would definitely be out of the picture considering the event earlier this year at the high school.

    I think it would be really cool to have a "camp site" set up for the kids to check out and ask questions.

    Edit:

There will be plenty of sutlers who would love to take your money. If you come down, I'll hook you up with a couple rev war guys who will be there fighting for the state's rights that they fought for in the 1770's.
    We cover the Yankee Invasion after Christmas, but I may personally check out this event in Moorpark. Do you have a link?

      Link to the Moorpark event.

      I highly recommend trying to watch the evening battle on Saturday.
      That is coolest battle to watch.

      There are organizations that host War of Northern Aggression events.
      Here a few that I know of.

      The American Civil War Society, Inc., is one of the largest Civil War living history reenacting associations in California. We are a family oriented, non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public through both military and civilian impressions.

      Those are the 2 that I know of that do The Second war for Independence events.
      Also most units if you ask are more then happy to help spread the word that a teacher is looking for re-enactors to assist in a living history at a school.

      As already mentioned;
      Make it clear about the weapons, most of the re-enactors I know enjoy teaching about the firearms.

              Yep, RH. I joined in '98. I'm bad with names and don't remember a Jake Bailey. Now, I'm semi retired from reenacting and only do one or two events a year.
