    Mosin Ammo

I have seen a lot of these 440 round sealed cans from the 70's. Is it something a person should stay away from. And since I am new to C & R, is there a recommended type of 7.62 X 54R that all you experienced would recommend. The ammo will be used at the range only.

Why stay away?? Shoot the heck out of it while you can!!!! The range you go to might not allow it though.

I've shot that ammo. It's fine. It's corrosive, so make sure you clean your rifle well after shooting.

The Russian and Bulgiarian is actually quite nice and you can pretty much just go buy that. If you see any other country you might post again and ask about that.

As noted, it's corrosive and you'll want to clean your rifle when you get home including using water to rinse out the salts. Not a big deal but you should read up on it a bit.

I am currently shooting my way through a can of 40s Russian on stripper clips.

I'll save the clips and use them with '70s ammo.

I have no idea when this will dry up but I'll try to be better prepared than I was when the <$0.08/round 7.62x25 dried up - I only had 2 cans of that on hand when it just went away.
