+1 for AIM. I just got two spam cans from them in the wooden crate a few weeks ago.

I was at the Cow Palace a couple weeks ago and waited on Sat about 45mn. in line for the Milwall booth. They had the 7.62X54R, 440rd spam cans for $89 and the wooden crate of two spam cans for $175. I got the crate.
I was just at the Vallejo gunshow today. $10 to park and $10 admission. There were people at the Milwall booth but some buying and other looking. No lines. They had a few of the 7.62X54R ammo there and the same price. If you want to drive to Vallejo. No lines and I am sure they will still have the ammo there tomorrow. They don't bring as much there as the one at the Cow Palace.

I am contemplating an order from Sportsman's Guide right now...

$11.58 a box for four boxes of Brown Bear 203 grain softpoint

$85.49 for a 440 round can of Russian Silvertip 188... DISCOUNT CODE = SG2379 for $15 off the order and a $15 giftcard they send you to use on another order.

Shipping $15.99 (.99 after the code) +TAX

$145 delivered for the 440 round surplus can and 80 rounds new production hunting rounds plus a $15 gift card...

They got me.

Don't think sportsmans guide ships 54r surplus to California. But if they do now would like to know. They have decent deals on it.

I just bought some (54r) an hour ago from them. The site names specific counties and cities in CA they won't ship too. Sacramento is one of those counties, but I had it shipped to my work outside city limits.

Thanks! I have about 300 rounds of it put away for sometime now. I knew it was non-magnetic but, I also thought it was non-corrosive. I thought wrong.

They do, but as others have mentioned it sounds like Sacramento is a no go. Sacramento COUNTY is fine. I live in Elk Grove. I have tons of recent orders for all kinds of ammo from the Guide. Anyone outside of "SACRAMENTO" should not have an issue, but that blows. Hopefully you have another address to ship to.

I have zero problems with them as long as something is in stock - they clearly mark everything.

Membership is annoying at first, but it ends up worth it. Also, it seems like all the prices are just a dollar or two more if you are not a member, so you don't really have to join for one order.

I joined for an insanely good price for something on backorder and it kept getting extended till they cancelled it. I was PISSED. As it turns out I am glad I joined.

They seem to have a great selection of 7.62x54R usually - Winchester White Box 180 grain, Sellier and Bellot 182 gr, Brown Bear 203 grain SP, Silver Bear 174 gr, etc... and surplus from time to time - in stock.

I can't believe anyone in CA spends money on those assclowns. Sportsman's Guide or Cheaper than Dirt.

I don't even live in CA any more, and I won't give them a cent because of their asinine polices toward Californians.

I'm fine if you made it a joke. However, don't "fix" my post with your own opinion interjected. If you have a problem with them, that's fine

Don't take this post the wrong way though. I have no problem with you. I'm just letting you know

What I fixed your post to is called "reality". If you are OK with them arbitrarily deciding that they won't sell you perfectly legal items, good for you.

Just be aware, that by supporting them, you are agreeing with their polices.

Sportsmansguide.com order came in. A nice pristine can of Russian ball with a can opener and some 203 grain soft points. Can cost $85.49.

I really had no idea they had weird policies towards California. Probably because they always shipped to me. I had more of an issue with their backorders never materializing.

I have since noticed that they do not ship items like Upper receivers to California or at least that's how I interpreted it... "Will not ship assault weapon parts to California". Apparently that includes items like a 57 upper receiver and who knows what else.

Honestly I blame our legislators. I don't blame gun manufacturers, or even online vendors when they say "Screw California". It is business. If they deem us more trouble than its worth, fine. We do have the option not to buy from them.

I thought I would help you look too. Dang if I didn't find 3 cans in my safe, lol. I buy mine from jgsales.com. It looks like they are out right now, just keep checking. They are in AZ so the shipping to Salinas is only 20 bucks.
When buying, keep the shipping in mind before you hit the buy button.
Also, go to craigslist, type in mosin nagant. Once in a while someone will be selling it.

In Sacramento, River City Gun Exchange has had individual 20 round bundles of surplus for a while@$5.99. Not bad to pick up a few boxes. They may have the cans as well, but they list per box price in their ads.

I was buying mine there when it was $3.99 last year. Finally ordered online. Bought a 440 can, then went back and ordered another 880. Not like I won't use it up eventually.

Yup, meant to say city. I actually just had it shipped to Elk Grove which is Sacramento county. No worries. Sucks they won't ship to my house though.

That's cool that you have somewhere to ship.

I did get the promised $15 Gift Card in yesterday's mail from that last deal on the 440 round can... so the next time they have the 440's in stock for $85 I will hopefully get it shipped free and take $15 more off that order. They did have a "FLASH SALE" via email a couple days ago and it was hard to resist another $85.49 can, but I knew the gift card was coming... it'll go towards more 54R or more of that $10 Barnaul "Colt" 168 grain .308 - that stuff shoots great, BTW.

The only thing about the GIFT CARDS they send out is they expire in about two months. The $85.49 price is still good but it is now a backorder, but orderable.

"SRETAIL813" saves you $15 off an order of two cans... which leaves $3 shipping on the table... plus $15 gift card makes a hard to resist $170 delivered for two more cans with CA TAX. I hate backorders from these guys, but I'm tempted to get in line on these.

SPORTSMANS GUIDE has a referral program. If I refer someone to join we BOTH get $15 giftcards. PM me if you want me to refer you if you are planning on joining anyway - or try to get SOMEONE from CALGUNS to refer you so two people from the forums get some giftcards - $15 on a decent sized order is the TAX or the shipping. IT HELPS.
