How do I know what rifle is a C&R?

I should know this, I haven't looked through the crap they send you when you receive your FFL-03?
Sorry if this is a common question but I can't find "the list".
    Thanks

You'll find the list in the brown booklet, among the "crap" they sent you.

if you don't find it in your packet, you can go to ATF.gov and download the PDFs from there.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

        If it's 50 or older, it's a C&R.

          Really?
It's in that "crap" they sent you.

Anyways a quick google of "c&r list" the first hit is this:

It has a PDF link on the right to the brown book and then links to updates under it

look at the link chaos47 sent. that contains everything you need to know. As he pointed out, be sure to look at the updates as well.

I would spend a lot of time reading through that. it isn't "crap." Having a C&R doesn't do you much good if you don't know what is C&R.

Some of the C&R crap is more C than R.

For example, all Colt Woodsmen are on the list. Even the ones built in the 70s.

Just because it's on the Federal C&R list does not mean it qualifies as a C&R in California.....

As posted above in Calif the firearm must be at least 50 years old....

                  SVT-40 is INCORRECT.

California does NOT determine what is C&R. Only the Feds do.

It must be a 50 year old long gun for C&C or to be shipped to you from OOS.

That will go away on January 1st if you have a COE to go with your C&R.
                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Yep. EVERTHING the feds say is C&R is also C&R in California. SVT-40 is confusing California's dealer transfer exemption with C&R. Two different things.

If you want something on the list but not 50 years old take a trip out of state and import it. This is great with the handguns if you get a good out of state FFL.
