They are mostly, if not exclusively Korean re-imports. Most have been rebuilt and/or are mixmasters to some degree or another.
I picked one up many years ago. An IBM. It has an M2 stock and the later sight and bayonet lug band. It's in very good condition and a great shooter. Not a wise use of money. For the cost of the carbine plus the cost of the restoration ($349+) you could get a nice shooter carbine or even a scruffy original configuration carbine.
They made more than 6 million M1 Carbines. It isn't that hard to find one that is nice and doesn't need any restoration.Revolvers are not pistols

If it's under $600 and in good shape, buy it. If it has a Winchester barrel, definitely buy it. The more Winchester parts the more value it has.

Probably you best bet is to search on Gunbroker and/or gunsamerica for sold prices, rather than asking price.
