    7.62X54 arrived.

First shipment of blanks arrived, came to the house in this box, screwed closed, how fun!

There is a clue in the picture as to what these feed?

If you guess right you get to ride on the custom camera dolly seen in my C&R gallery pic.

The accessories have not arrived yet.
The Sokolov mount and loading gear is over 100ilbs pallet weight
Thankfully I hoarded a whole bunch of belts for it back in the 1990's (collecting Russian militaria.)

Here fresh from 10 days in jail is my new CA legal, semi-auto, old Russian (C/O Midwest Metal Creations) 7.62X54 shooter.

I intend to shoot it until it is puffing steam like Thomas the Tank Engine!

So you got that one. I nearly bought it, but went with the Bren instead since I already have a 1919a4 BF in 54R. Enjoy!

                    This is my first 7.62X54.
Looking for an SVT and a nice sniper now.

I bought this Maxim from the classifieds on Gunboards - not sure if it was advertised elsewhere.
It came with a LOT of accessories.

I have to say they did an absolutely beautiful job with the internals, it is just phenomenal engineering.

Your 1919 in a Russian caliber sounds nifty, please do post some pics, and don't forget some of your Bren gun, too.

The interesting thing about heavy metal BF's is not only the amount of space they take up, 2-3 times normal rifles, but also the accessories and accompanying reference books, they are nearly all hardback and huge, lol.

Maxim - was paid a huge yearly stipend to stop developing electronic patents and to leave the US and live in Europe, by Thomas Edison.
It is also contested that Maxim was the one who actually invented the light bulb.
A truly fascinating man, and an incredible mind.
The book is important if you own one of these machines - the cartridge is a 37mm Pom Pom round, another of Maxim's inventions - found that one in a junk shop in Burbank.

                          Cheap, cheap, cheap and cheap.

At least I think that's the reason

I make movies - the blanks are for that work.

The blanks arrived in the mail before the live ammo, so I photographed them first -
