looks like you did well. service work does have it's perks. although i've not been blessed with any firearms from it yet, i have received brass, ammo, powder, load data, and various other things so i guess it's alright. may get a type 53 mosin off one sooner or later but we'll see. nice type99, that should definitely have a chrome-lined bore being that it's older than both of mine and they do. should be a good shooter, the .22 as well. obviously you take pride in not only your work but your relationship with customers, as i do and that, more than these rifles, should be a point of pride. good show.

Historical nugget

My late Grandad told me that P.O. Ackley considered the Arisaka to be the strongest military bolt action ever made (Ackley experimented by putting large combustible pellets of some sort into the actions, close the bolt, left the room, and BANG). Can't remember which came in second, but it was one of ours (I think it was the 1917 American Enfield).

Japanese troops, when out of ammo and in a "sticky" situation, would pick up our 7.62 X 63 (30-06) rounds and fire them in the Arisaka. Evidently the shell would swell up enough to stop the back-pressure. But sometimes it didn't "seal" as described, and you know what happens next (ouch).
